The construction industry is one of the most accident- and injury-prone fields to work in. According to OSHA, as many as 1,000 construction workers each year suffer some sort of injury while at work. Construction safety risks can be notoriously difficult to assess, because each one is different from the other. This is why prevention of injury is so important in the industry.

Perhaps most dangerous to construction workers is the possibility of falling. From 1995 to 1999, about 362 construction-related falls happened each year, all of which ended in fatality. Luckily, this number has decreased in recent years. The number of fatally-injured construction workers has decreased to about 200 people yearly from 2008 to 2013.
